1st of May to 5th of May 2024
The region of Cappadocia in Turkey is a marvelous and magical place. An un-paralled destination, delivering an unforgettable experience that's hard to surpass.
Situated in the central part of Turkey, Cappadocia stands out for its incredibly unique landscape, which developed over thousands of years through interaction of volcanic activity, ash deposits, and sandstone erosion. This geologically captivating land boasts stunning rock formations and towering spires that appear as though from a different world, earning them the fitting name "fairy chimneys". However, despite the landscape's exceptional nature, the list of extraordinary marvels is far from exhaustive. Within the rocks and mountains of Cappadocia lie subterranean cities, residences, and shelters, as well as ancient monasteries and sacred sanctuaries showcasing centuries-old frescoes that depict early Christian religious beliefs. The majority of this area was carved into the rock between approximately 1200 BC and
1200 AD, and during this era, the caves served as protection against various challenges for the inhabitants. Presently, these caves are exclusively devoted to the tourism industry, with opportunities to book accommodations in cave hotels, such as those found in the largest town of the region, Ürgüp, often considered the heart of the area. However, numerous other towns in the vicinity can also be mentioned. Nevşehir, with its rich history and beauty, Göreme, where many dwellings are nestled within fairy chimneys, and Uçhisar, home to Cappadocia's highest peak. Wherever you choose to stay, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality and friendliness, creating an excellent chance to explore diverse customs and traditions, including unnamed traditional dishes that offer delightful flavors. You will never forget a visit to Cappadocia!

Air balloon trips are a wonderful way to experience the landscape here, and the best time is at dawn
There are fleamarkets, and then there are fleamarkets. Visiting one here is just an absolut fun!
The Göreme Open Air Museum
